With over 400 original works of art on display in the prestigious Mall Galleries, the Guild's 45th Open Annual Exhibition will attract art buyers and enthusiasts from across the world. Click here for Mall Galleries.
An unmissable occasion for lovers of mainly representational and wholly original works of art, each the result of meticulous observation or careful research of aircraft, events, personalities and historical achievements blended with artistic skills in land, sea and skyscapes.
Discover the wide range of techniques and styles in watercolour, oil, pen and ink, pencil, gouache, pastel and acrylic offered by members and non-members of the Guild.
In celebration of the Centenary of the formation of Westland, there will be a special exhibition of works depicting aircraft designed or built under licence by Westland or AgustaWestland in the UK since 1915. The exhibit judged the best will be awarded The Guild of Aviation Artists' Westland Centenary Prize of £1,000.
Informal demonstrations of aviation painting in oil, watercolour or gouache by senior Guild artists may be seen on a daily basis throughout the exhibition from Tuesday until Saturday.
A commentary on exhibits by the Guild's Chairman, Graham Cooke MBE GAvA, will be given on Thursday at 12 noon and again at 6 pm.
Opening Day, Buyers’ Preview and Private View
The Exhibition will be opened on Monday 20th July 2015 by The Right Honourable Geoff Hoon. Attendance at the Opening Reception is by invitation only.
Prospective purchasers may apply to the Secretary to attend the Buyers’ Preview on Opening Day, which will take place from 10 am to 12 noon and the Private View in the afternoon between 2.30 pm and 5 pm. Click here to contact us.
Advance copies of the catalogue will be available from the Secretary approximately one week before the opening at a cost of £5.00 each, plus £1.26 for postage.
Note for artists. Submission Day is Sunday 10th May at the Mall Galleries. Entry packs for Associates and Friends are available from the Secretary on request and on receipt of a Large Letter stamp and self-addressed label. Packs for non-members are available on request and on receipt of a cheque for £5.00 to cover administrative costs. (Entry forms and submission packs for Full Members have already been collected or sent by post.)
