With over 400 original works of art on display in the prestigious Mall Galleries, the Guild's 44th Open Annual Exhibition will attract art buyers and enthusiasts from across the world. Click here for Mall Galleries.
An unmissable occasion for lovers of mainly representational and wholly original works of art, each the result of meticulous observation or careful research of aircraft, events, personalities and historical achievements blended with artistic skills in land, sea and skyscapes.
Discover the wide range of techniques and styles in watercolour, oil, pen and ink, pencil, gouache, pastel and acrylic offered by members and non-members of the Guild. Paintings by many of the world's very best aviation artists will be on show as well as paintings by talented and exciting new artists.
Informal demonstrations of aviation painting in oil, watercolour or gouache by senior Guild artists may be seen on a daily basis throughout the exhibition from Tuesday until Saturday.
A commentary on exhibits by a senior Guild member on Thursday at 12 noon and again at 6 pm.
Opening Day, Buyers’ Preview and Private View
The Exhibition will be opened on Monday 21st July 2014 by Mrs Mary Stopes-Roe, daughter of Sir Barnes Wallis. Attendance at the Opening Reception is by invitation only.
Prospective purchasers may apply to the Secretary to attend the Buyers’ Preview on Opening Day, which will take place from 10 am to 12 noon and the Private View in the afternoon between 2.30 pm and 5 pm on 22nd July. Click here to contact us.
Advance copies of the catalogue will be available from the Secretary approximately one week before the opening at a cost of £5.00 each, plus £1.20 for postage.
Note for artists. Submission day is Sunday 11th May, 2014 at the Mall Galleries. Entry forms and submission packs for Full Members will be available for collection at the Guild's AGM or they will be sent by post if uncollected. Entry packs for Associates and Friends will be available from the Secretary on request (using the tear-off slip on the notice sent out with the Winter QN) and can be collected at the AGM or sent by post on receipt of a Large Letter stamp and self-addressed label. Packs for non-members will be available on request and on receipt of a cheque for £5.00 to cover administrative costs.
